Cat Tori, cat furniture, beautiful sea of Peng Chau, seeing the city line of Hong Kong from the far.
Jesse, a woodworker working in his confined woodworking workshop.

Hello!

I have never dared to dream of becoming a wood worker and establishing my own workshop having grown up modestly in the outskirt of the metropolitan Hong Kong.

Having started living in Peng Chau in 2017, I explored to build simple furniture for ourselves, back then when options in the market were either way unaffordable or less thoughtful in its designs. I then went on to receive more schooling on woodworking and spent 3 years establishing my own workshop.

My Story

Hello I am Jesse. It all began in year 2017 when I first moved to a remote island, Peng Chau, Hong Kong. With little resources, complicated logistics and mediocre choices in the HK furniture market, I have decided to build simple furniture on my own. Having bought a table saw and let it sit for a couple of months not having an idea of how wood working should be done, I was luckily admitted to a short woodworking course ran by an institution from an application I have submitted a year ago back then (well that comes in real handy).

Making use of the brief yet precious training I had I have slowly built a tiny workshop in my place and start working with wood. Was never in lack of ideas as what I built was what I need, be it a simple cabinet that fits right the space next to our fridge or curtain holders that only has to do the simple job. Slowly developing my skills, I have started to build wood products for my neighbours and from people across the internet who has noticed us via social media.

We have also spent time working with leather as a hobby and I have also taken lessons on sewing. It was always thrilled to have projects that allow us to blend in all three materials, wood, leather and fabric.
